Workforce Development & Training

A big challenge companies face is finding employees with the background, education and experience to assume the technologically challenging jobs required in manufacturing and business today.  A primary goal of the USMBC is to improve area workforce training so that jobs can be filled – and careers built – with the local labor force in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties.

UBMBC workforce development activities include:

  • Co-sponsoring courses with Chesapeake College.
  • Working closely with USMBC member companies to ensure they receive the assistance they need to manage a changing workplace and maintain high productivity.
  • Participating actively in the activities of the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board.

For more information on our workforce development and training activities, contact the USMBC office or call (410) 827-7744.
