USMBC Annual Conference
The USMBC 2010 Annual Conference is coming up! This event – the first one organized by the Upper Shore Manufacturing & Business Council – will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
Company Growth … Business Management … Human Resources … Education
The USMBC Annual Conference will offer a full day of interesting and informative speakers, presentations and workshops. In addition to several full-meeting sessions plus social/networking opportunities, three meeting “tracks” will be offered to serve the interests of specific attendees:
- Business/operations track
- Human resources track
- Education track
The agenda for the Annual Conference is currently under development. The following topics are among those being planned:
Business Topics
- Taking advantage of export opportunities and selling worldwide.
- Exploring opportunities for utilizing tax credits in your business.
- Getting to know your economic development officers on the Upper Shore – and what they can do for you.
- Harnessing the power of social media and social marketing to benefit your business.
- Sustainability and “corporate green” issues: practical solutions that preserve the environment while benefiting your business.
- CEO Forum (invitation-only, conducted by USMBC).
Human Resources Topics
- Results of the latest USMBC biennial wage and benefits survey – what do they mean?
- The state of local employment – strengths, weaknesses, and what HR managers need to do to attract the best local talent.
- Human Resources Forum (conducted by the Upper Shore Society for Human Resource Management)
Education Topics
- Career Day development and planning session for educators.
- Manufacturing Education: Partnership for Excellence (MEPE) program and other business/educational partnerships.
- How the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center (ESHEC) at Chesapeake College works for and benefits graduating high school students.
- Educators Forum (conducted by USMBC).
Fees for attending the USMBC Annual Meeting are as follows:
- USMBC Member Organizations: $75 for first attendee; $50 for each additional attendee.
- USMBC Non-Member Organizations: $100 for first attendee, $75 for each additional attendee.
(Continental breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided, as well as a social hour and refreshments at the end of the conference.)
