Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board
The Upper Shore Manufacturing & Business Council works very closely with the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board. Founded in the mid 1980s, the mission of the USWIB is to help the residents of the five-county region find work, while assisting employers find the best job-seeker matches for their business.
Career Centers … On-Location and On-the-Move
The USWIB operates five One-Stop Career Centers in the Upper Eastern Shore region:
Caroline County Career Center: Denton Dorchester County Career Center: Cambridge Kent County Career Center: Chestertown Queen Anne’s County Career Center: Centreville Talbot County Career Center: Easton
The USWIB also operates a mobile career van that makes regular visits to schools and other community locations. The van is staffed and fully equipped with computers and the latest communications technology – giving Upper Shore workers unparalleled access to the resources that help them implement their job search and find the best match for their talents.
Because the geographic region of the USWIB’s activities precisely matches that of the USMBC, our two organizations have worked very closely since the 1990s building a strong track record of matching people and jobs for USMBC member companies.
