Leadership/Management Development & Training

Leadership, management development and training is one of the most important missions of the UBMBC and its partners in business on Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore.  Working together, Chesapeake College and the instructor have revised the former Management Institute to provide training for new and experienced supervisors, and managers with leadership potential. 

The Leadership Institute

Program Overview

The Leadership Institute is designed to help managers unlock their leadership potential by:

• Broadening their knowledge base and perspectives.
• Learning new skills and sharpening existing skills.
• Developing individual action plans to capitalize on their strengths and work on areas needing improvement.
• Applying new concepts to increase their effectiveness.
• Challenging themselves as managers and leaders.
• Building a network of support.

To enhance the learning/application cycle, the Management Institute program utilizes a variety of tools:

• Self-assessments
• Case studies
• Group discussions
• Small and large group activities
• Weekly individual action plans
• Individual coaching

Each program is unique and tailored to its participants.  Each participant is encouraged to bring real-life challenges and topics of interest to the group, where we discuss and address them accordingly.
