EMPLOYER-COMMUNITY AWARENESS RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMS

It can be difficult for the business community to know about all the school programs supplying the specialized skills they need.  It can be equally difficult for students to know about the specialized local employment opportunities waiting for them if they learn the right skills.  This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between students and employers.

The following programs are at the heart of this initiative:  For more information, contact USMBC.
Schools To Careers Directory: Published by USMBC, a list of contact people for all public schools, along with a listing of career and technology related programs offered to students.   This list is available online, and is printed as a brochure that is sent to local businesses.
Careers in Manufacturing Video: Produced by USMBC, an upbeat video with activity booklet, featuring area manufacturers telling about local job opportunities and skill requirements.  The video will be shared with all middle and high schools and is available upon request.
Speakers Bureau: A service of USMBC providing informative speakers drawn from businesses, workforce and educational institutions for, among others, classroom and career day activities.
